It has been 20 years since the End. The embodiment of chaos descended upon the city of Tarsis, and all of the continent of Atia was plunged into torment. The landscape was violently changed, the denizens uprooted, and the environment made dangerous beyond reason.
The Impact - The former location of the city of Tarsis, now a impossibly deep crater. The area seems to be a breeding ground for forces of evil, the walls around the crater lined with caves and lairs of a number of constantly feuding creatures, the ground around the area lines with tunnels and filled with darkness. There have been speculation as to what is in the crater, but all those left to wander feel themselves draw to the Impact, as if it had a sinister gravity.
The Black Plains - The entire north of the continent is a solid plain of black grass. Once home to Atia’s agriculture industry, the ground is now fallow and packs of hunters roam the plain. The forces of chaos were less consistent with the plains; with all the villages and settlements affected in unusual ways. Those left to wander have to show extreme caution when wondering the plain.
The Glass Forest - The forest southwest of Tarsis was directly hit by the blast. All the natural life of the forest was instantly transformed to glass and mineral.
The Canopy - Meanwhile, the mountain range to the southeast was made vegetable, as the mountain peaks turned into giant trees. Branches covered with huge brown and red leaves extend from 1000-foot trees, and deep under the trees creatures unknown stalk the branches.
The Sandsea - When the End happened, the strait between Atia and its neighbor Alreta was turned to blue sand. The boats and ports and “oil derricks” sunk into the sand, and now nomads walk the sea to deal trade with Alreta.
The Arid Ocean - Meanwhile, the desert south of the former Canok Mountains turned to water, and the ancient ruins of the once-proud Athians sunk into the golden waters. As the only real source of water on ravaged Atia, small but doomed colonies have cropped up around the edges of the unusually-colored sea.
The Salt City - The Kingdom of Ar was a prosperous empire that crippled instantly in the end, their fine-worked buildings and civilization turned to limestone, salt, and dust.
The Junkheap - Meanwhile, the blasted and tapped lands south of the Kingdom of Ar, which were devastated in the building of the Kingdom of Ar, were transformed as well. Gears, pipes and worked metal littered the ground, every inch with the semblance of civilization, but not the means.
Edge of Insanity - On the border of the devastation, a storm always rages, keeping those unfortunate enough to live in the chaos trapped within the hellish environment.
Alreta - Amazingly, the small kingdom of Alreta was completely unaffected by the End. The people, however, weren’t as lucky. Each underwent a very obvious psychological change; cheats became noble, saints became sinners, the apathetic cared, and nobody knew each other anymore. Trade with Alreta is both necessary and dangerous.
